Lecturer at Koblenz University 1984–1988; lecturer at Augsburg University 1990–1996; lecturer at Hannover University since 2001; honorary professor at Hannover University since 2009. Admitted to the bar in 1983. After being partner in Meidert & Kollegen (Augsburg) and Prof. Versteyl Rechtsamwälte (Hannover) founded own law firm (Andrea Versteyl Rechtsanwälte).
Joined the law firm in 2010.
Head of advisory board of the Bavarian institute for applied environmental research and technology (BIfA GmbH) sind 1996; board member of Berlin's city cleaning company 1005–2006; board member of Berlin's transport services; member of the editorial board of AbfallR and ReSource journals; scientific management (together with Prof. Dr. Dr. h. c. Karl J. Thomé-Kozmiensky) of Berlin's waste economy conferences since 2006.
