We have been advising on local government law for many years. Our lawyers advise on all questions which may arise in connection with local authorities. The basis of local government legislation is the Law on Local Self-Government. In accordance with this law, the local authority is responsible for all matters affecting the local community. Local government law brings together all of the legal provisions affecting local authorities – from the Local Authorities Order, the Local Authority Regulations on the Local Authority Elections Law to Bye-Laws and Local Authority Budget Regulations. A local authority’s organisation, tasks, legal position and means of taking action are dealt with.
We advise municipalities, administrative districts, local associations and other organisational entities, and in particular municipal special purpose associations or represent clients in the context of disputes relating to the constitution of the local authority before the competent administrative courts. We have for example advised an energy provider on local authority law on the occasion of its restructuring.
