Studied law in Würzburg and Dublin. Legal traineeship in Berlin and Cape Town. 1996 first State examination, 1998 second State examination. 1997 The Hague Academy of International Law. 1998–2002 Lecturer for European law, Administration Academy Berlin. 2000 doctoral degree with Prof. Dr Blumenwitz, Würzburg. Since 2000 lawyer in Berlin, Brussels and Bonn.

Joined the firm in 2004. 2004‑2018 Head of Brussels Office. 2017‑2021 Member of the Firm’s Management Board. Head of Antitrust and State Aid Practice.

Cartel Damage claims (e. g. Steel cartel, Trucks cartel, Air Cargo cartel, Sugar cartel, Lottery cartel). Defending companies and individuals in cartel proceedings (e. g. confectionery, building materials, sausages). EU state aid proceedings on the rescue and restructuring of banks (SachsenLB, WestLB, Sparkasse KölnBonn, BayernLB and NordLB) and on COVID‑​Aid (Condor). Legal advice to Federal ministries, German Länder and municipalities as well as to companies concerning numerous state aid law issues. Extensive experience in litigation matters before EU courts (i. e. T 745/17, T 210/15, T 27/11, T 22/11, T 457/09, T 2/08, C 681/16). Numerous merger control procedures for public and private undertakings.
