Career

Studied law at the Julius Maximilian University of Würzburg. 1887 first state examination in law, 1989 second state examination in law. 1989 to 1991 worked in the automotive industry, from 1991 to 1999 at the Federal Ministry of Economics in the Industrial Policy and European Policy Departments, with interim secondment to the Federal Foreign Office (Permanent Representation of the Federal Republic of Germany to the EU). From 2000 to 2024 at the Federal Cartel Office, where he has been Chairman of the 1st Federal Procurement Chamber since 2009.
